EFSA

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is an independent EU Authority, with its own legal personality, funded by the European Union. Its mission is to provide scientific advice and technical support in all areas related to food safety.

CODEX ALIMENTARIOUS

By virtue of KYA 349 GG 183 / B / 11-2-2005, the EFET was appointed as National Contact Point of the Codex Alimentarius (NCCP). The NCCP acts as the liaison office between Codex Alimentarius and the national stakeholders (competent authorities, industry, consumers and professional and scientific bodies).

FOOD FRAUD NETWORK

Το Food Fraud Network (Δίκτυο της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής για την Καταπολέμηση της Απάτης στα Τρόφιμα) δημιουργήθηκε το 2013, ως αποτέλεσμα της ανάγκης που ενέσκυψε μετά την κρίση με το κρέας αλόγου. Σκοπός του είναι να επιτρέπει στα κράτη μέλη της ΕΕ και σε ορισμένες άλλες ευρωπαϊκές χώρες (Ελβετία, Νορβηγία, Ισλανδία) να ανταλλάσσουν πληροφορίες και να συνεργάζονται σε εθελοντική βάση για θέματα που αφορούν σε εκ προθέσεως παραβιάσεις της νομοθεσίας της ΕΕ στην αγροδιατροφική αλυσίδα με διασυνοριακό αντίκτυπο.

RASFF

Operating since 1979, RASFF is one of the great success stories of the EU’s integrated approach to food safety, showing the power of communication and collaboration. By providing a system for the swift exchange of information between member countries and the coordination of response actions to food safety threats, it has become an indispensable tool for protecting and reassuring European consumers.

INFOSAN

The International Food Safety Authorities Network (INFOSAN) is is a joint initiative between World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This a global network includes of 177 member states. Each has a designated INFOSAN emergency contact point for communication between national food safety authorities and the INFOSAN secretariat regarding urgent events. The contact point for Greece is Hellenic Greek Authority (E.F.E.T.), Directorate of Laboratory Control, Depatrment of Emergency Risks.
